Yardstick
The yardstick – understood as a drawing device as well as a measuring scale – is given a symbolic value. The series “Yardsticks” poses the question of standardization and are calibrated uniformly in a new and striking way. The calibration marks merge via smooth transitions and begin to dissolve. Contrasting plains define borders – and yet don’t. Each unique artwork is an eye catcher – and it´s vertical hanging capability accentuates even small wall areas. The measurement most commonly used is 180x7cm.
